When I scan to computer, the document is automatically cropped which I don't want. Sometimes 3 or4 images appear on my computer, all of them cropped in different ways. Yet the preview on the scanner shows the full document that I want scanned. When I scan to email the scanner works perfectly so it appears to be someting wrong with the computer operating system.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that your printer is cropping the document while scanning to the computer.
Follow the below steps to disable auto cropping.
- Open the HP Scan software.
- Right-click the bottom left corner of the screen, click Search, click Apps, and then type HP Scan in the Search box, and then click HP Scan.
- Select a photo shortcut, such as Photo to File, and then click Advanced Settings.
- Make sure the Auto Crop setting is not selected.
- Adjust any other settings, and then click Scan to scan your item again.
Let me know how it goes.
