My scanner has not been working (it used to but I have not tried for sometime) and I have tried to load the HP print and scan doctor but it seems to be stuck on Windows (WIA) scan and has been for about an hour - when I look online it seems to say it should only take 30 mins or so and I am wondering what to do! The printer works fine and it seems to be networked and the scanner option enabled..... how do I fix this? Or if the Windows scan is the function that isn't working what do I do?

Hi,
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.

Past the following command and press enter:

Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection

Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?

It is now not recognising the driver? How do I reinstall this?

Sorry the driver is now ok (restarted) however the WIA is still not working and when I go into the services folder and try to start it says it cannot start WIA service on Local Computer. Error 1067 : the process terminated unexpectedly. Any ideas? Thank you!
