A couple of weeks ago my HP office jet pro scanned and printed beautifully on both latest versions of my Win 11 and Mac. Suddenly the app feature on Mac fails to print or scan. Hours wasted with HP support. Last guy said known issue on Mac. I paid for support on AVG who got the functions on Mac working but cannot scan from document feature. It performs poorly requiring manually load of documents to scan. Has anyone else had this issue with app on Mac recently?

If the HP Smart App is not working on your Mac running Ventura (presumably macOS Ventura, the next version of macOS after Monterey), you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

 

  • Check System Requirements: Ensure that your Mac meets the system requirements for the HP Smart App and macOS Ventura. Some apps might not work properly if the system requirements are not met.
  • Update the App: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart App installed on your Mac. Visit the App Store or the official HP website to download and install the latest version.
  • Check Compatibility: Confirm that the HP Smart App is compatible with macOS Ventura. Sometimes, apps need updates to work seamlessly with new operating system versions.
  • Restart the App: Close the HP Smart App completely and then reopen it. Sometimes, simply restarting the app can resolve minor glitches.
  • Restart Your Mac: Restarting your Mac can help clear out temporary issues that might be affecting the app's functionality.
  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your Mac is connected to the internet. The HP Smart App might require an active internet connection to function properly.
  • Check for Updates: Check if there are any updates available for macOS Ventura. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can help resolve compatibility issues.
