Hello,

 

Yesterday I've updated my HP software and since that moment I'm no longer able to scan a document. I use to select HP Scan from my program list and, for an unknown reason, it is no longer available.

 

Therefore, when I try to scan from my colmputer I'm receiving the following error message: "The HP Officejet Pro 8600 was no found." No option is given to me so as to correct the situation. This is very strange because I've never experienced any proble with the scanning option since I own that printer in January 2012.

 

What should I do to reinstate the HP scanning program option from my desktop. Your assistance is very much appreciated.

HP Officejet pro Basic Device Software, 6/26/2017, 193MB, Version 28.0.1315.0

 

Why did you update?

 

The HP support assistant was showing a "I" next to the questio mark in the blue circle located at the right bottom of my screen.

 

Have you reinstalled the full Software and Drivers from the HP web site?

 

I have downloaded the software from the HP web page I was referred to. I presumed I havhe downloaded the full software and drivers. The file name is HPEasyStart_5_5_3253_26.exe.

Thank you very much. I have downloaded the file OJ8600_1315-1.exe and everything is now back to normal. The only thing is the installation stopped mid-way and I was receiving an error message. Before using the "retry" option I've temporarily turned off the firewall of Bitdefender Total Security 2017. After doing that, the installation was sucessfully completed.

 

Thank you so mush for your assistance. I've just tried the scanner and it is back to normal.

I have downloaded the file OJ8600_1315-1.exe and it didn't work.  I have tried to uninstall The HP officejet pro 8600 in the control panel and it won't uninstall.  I have gone thru HP Printer and Scan Doctor 5.1 and that didn't work. Finally, I got the printer to work wirelessly and then It still says The HP officejet pro 8600 was not found when I try to scan. So I rebooted the computer, unplugged the rounter & reset, unplug the printer to reset and now the printer does not work.  I have done EVERYTHING HP suggest and NOTHING works.   It say not connected to the network but when I look on LCD screen on my printer it says coneected!
