Microsoft Windows 11

With the upgrade to Windows11, the scan feature on my HP Office Jet 5258 All in One Printer does not work, while the other functions do work.  I don't know what happened, the machine always scanned all kinds of documents, pictures, etc. before the move to the latest operating system.  Is there any chance there is help available to correct this situation?  Thank you!

Yes, it is a scan issue alone.

@ignatz_42-

Please download and install HP Scan Extended and use it to scan

The program to repair the scan feature worked when I first got it but then it stopped working and I cannot get it to work again.  I go through all the steps of running the program, repair and finish, and it seemingly downloads leaving an icon in my download folder.  But no matter what I do now it will not work for me again.  I hate to be difficult; can you make any suggestions on what is wrong.  Thank you!

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi cured my problem briefly but failed to keep working so my scanner is now still not functioning while the remainder of the HP office jet 5258 functions do work.  Can this problem be corrected "again" or do I need to purchase a new all in one printer.  Thank you!

I recently downloaded to Windows 11 and that's when I started having problems with my printer scanning. I was online with windows support and he had control of my computer and after a few minutes he said that HP has not downloaded the drivers for my desktop that it needs after the upgrade from Windows 10. To be clear HP does not have the drivers I need after the upgrade to 11 for MY Laptop so the problem is upgraded drivers coming from HP. So I am starting here and trying to get my 5258 to work properly. It printed and scanned fine in Win 10 with no problems. This all started with Win 11. Hopefully someone is aware of this at HP.

Also I wanted other 5258 users to understand that when HP runs its quick diagnostic on the support center it comes up that my computer is using windows 10. It should clearly say after the scan that my OS is Windows 11. I don't know yet why but I'm working on it because the HP scan of my system should come up W 11. Maybe that's what the Microsoft support meant when he said that HP hasn't upgraded their drivers for Win 11. I just don't understand why HP comes up with I am running Win 10 2when I am clearly running Win 11??? Why can't HP pick this up when they are scanning my computer. Microsoft support can't help either until HP has the drivers for Win 11 for those of us that did the upgrade. ????? HP needs to get their system up to date if they can't even read the system my computer is running. Can HP or anyone have a solution?????? Thanks Everyone
