Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

hp officejet Pro 8610

The top feeder does not seem to recognize the presence of document in feeder and as a result the document does not feed through the feeder for either copying or scanning.  Copying or scanning of individual pages placed on the glass plate works fine.  Appears to be a mechanical problem not a software problem when inserting the document into the top feeder.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Are you facing this issue after an update?

Have you tried any troubleshooting  Steps?

Do you see a message "Original Loaded" when you load the paper in ADF?

Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Restart the printer try to print.

If you are trying to copy or fax a document, and the document does not feed into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), clean the ADF rollers and the separator pad. If you are not using the ADF, continue to the next step.

  1. Lift the top cover of the ADF. This provides easy access to the rollers and separator pad.

    1. ADF cover

    2. Rollers

    3. Separator pad

  2. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.

  3. Press the cloth against the rollers, and then rotate them upwards with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

    1. Rollers

    2. Separator pad

  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely (approximately 10 minutes).

  5. Close the ADF cover tightly at both ends.

I have gone through all the same troubleshooting steps but the document feeder still grinds.  Are there any additional steps that I can take?  Thanks,
