Hi

I have HP Officejet 8020 All-in-one. Yesterday I put paper for scanning and the printer gave me a message that printer requires maintenance. Please switch off the printer and start it again. I switched off the printer and turned it on. After it turned on the scanner lever is continuously moving left and right automatically and weird noises are coming. I can’t use the printer as the screen is blank and the scanner lever is moving automatically. So I have switched off the printer so that there’s no damage to the scanner.
What could have caused this problem and what is the solution? TIA.

Hi @bainz89,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

I see that you are facing issues with your HP Officejet 8020 All-in-one wherein it does not turn on normally.

This could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.

I suggest that you contact HP Service Center in your location from this weblink: https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/service-center
Note: Select your country from the dropdown,  enter the city or postal code, select the product, change the radius, and click on search to locate the nearest HP Service center near your location.

Hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
