I try to fax from my computer but there is no fax option between the printers. In Settings under Printers and Scanners there is no fax icon. I tried to remove and reinstall the driver for the HP6830 with no results.

Hi,

From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program.

Select the HP Officejet Pro 6830 Basic Device Software and click on Repair.

Be sure to confirm any prompt, and then check if you see an additional Fax - HP Officejet Pro 6830 queue.

Thanks for your response. There is no Repair but Modify. I've pressed but it didn't help. I still miss the Fax option in printing dialog.

Please uninstall the HP Officejet Pro 6830 Basic Device Software from the Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.

 

Next, download and install the latest software below and check for any difference:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL54362/bi-131207-2/OJ6830_74.exe

I did it without success. If it helps - several months ago, after Win10 update the printer disappeared from the system. I do not remember how I'd corrected it. It looks like the fax is missing since then.
