There are likely printers that do not do what you ask.
The answer, in that case, is "No".
Some printers only support single sided Scan with ADF.
Paper Sizes might be restricted, too.
You can likely manage to work around the issue by running two separate passes through the ADF of the first and second pages and then combining the scans into a single document. Again, whether this is supported with the Scan software might depend on the Operating System, the version of that OS, the printer model scan software used (not all HP Scan software is the same software / version).
The other end of "No":
Some printers support awesome single pass ADF options (for example, Officejet Pro 9025)
This is one of the reasons it is so important to read the Specifications for any printer you have - or are might be interested in purchasing. Even better sometimes, look for the "Datasheet" for the printer.
