UNABLE TO SCAN FRO HP DESKJET 4130 TO PC USING WINDOWS 7

Have downloaded and installed latest driver fro hp support. but no printer/ scanner shortcut/icon appears.

I currently use Windows 7 Home Premium running on a Laptop in my Home Network.  The HP Dekjet plus 4130 is connected to a Router via Ethernet connection, and both Windows 7 pcs will see and install it but ONLY as a Printer.  I cannot use the Fax nor Scan features,

What do you mean by connected to the router with an Ethernet connection? an HP Deskjet Plus 4130 supports USB or Wireless network connection, it have no Ethernet port.

Connecting a printer to a Print Server, using a USB cable from a printer to a USB port of a router, such only offers print sharing and not any other feature.

For print and scan capabilities, install the HP Software on the computer by selecting a wireless connection, temporarily connect the printer to the computer with a USB when the installation prompts to do so:

For faxing, the printer supports HP mobile Fax which is supported by the HP Smart app (iOS, Android, Windows 10, macOS), so either use your mobile device for faxing or a supported Windows 10 PC, HP Smart is not available for Windows 7:
