We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I am unable to Scan over WiFi direct from my Officejet Pro 8620 Front Panel to my MacBook Pro. Although I can Scan and Print over WiFi from my MacBook Pro to my Officejet Pro 8620 without any problem. I used to be able to do so on my old iMac, but now when I select the Scan to Computer option on my Officejet Pro 8620 Front Panel Screen, it gives me the following message: "Mac OSX:HP Scan Software is required for this feature. If installed, open HP Utility. Under Scan Settings, select Scan"

The only HP Applications I have are HP Smart and HP Easy Scan, neither of which offer me the option of the above facility. Can anyone please help me?

It sounds like Scan to Computer is disabled on your Mac. Enabling Scan to computer using HP Utility may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, then double-click HP Utility. (If HP Utility is not available, download and install the printer essential software from here

2.) Under Scan Settings, click Scan to Computer, then make sure the Enable Scan to Computer check box is selected.

3.) Try to scan.

Thank you so much for solving my problem. I was wondering why HP Utilities has seemingly been superseeded by the HP Smart App (as that was the only one that seemed to be on offer from the HP website) when it doesn't offer the Scan To Computer option as the HP Utilities programme (which you very kindly sent me a link to download) does. Thanks again.
