Hi @Y7MAR,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 5510 printer is unable to copy even after trying HP support. Let’s go through a few steps to narrow down the cause and get it working again.

Check for Error Messages
Look at the printer’s display panel for any error codes or warning lights (like paper jam, cartridge error, or scanner error).
If there’s a specific error, address that first.

Power Cycle the Printer
Turn the printer off and unplug it from the power source.
Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
This often clears temporary faults in the copy function.

Inspect the Scanner Glass and Lid
Open the scanner lid and clean the glass and the white backing under the lid with a lint-free cloth and a little glass cleaner.
Make sure there’s no dust, smudges, or debris blocking the sensor.

Test with a Simple Document
Place a plain sheet with clear text face-down on the scanner glass.
Press the Copy (Black or Colour) button on the printer’s panel.
Observe if the scanner light moves and if it attempts to print.

Check Cartridges and Paper
Ensure both black and colour cartridges have sufficient ink and are correctly seated.
Also confirm that there’s plain paper loaded in the tray and no paper jam.

Update Printer Firmware
If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer (menu names may vary slightly).
If not, temporarily connect it to a computer via USB and use HP’s firmware update utility.

Reset the Printer (if supported)
On many HP models, you can perform a semi-full reset by turning the printer off, holding the # and 6 keys (or OK and Cancel, depending on model) while turning it back on.
Only do this if other steps fail, as it may reset network and custom settings.

I hope this helps.
