Hi. I can see several similar entries with people unable to use the EDIT function of "HP SMART" but I can't see a solution that fits my case.
I have a HP ENVY Photo 6234.
The installation process included HP SMART.
I used this software successfully for months to scan in documents and pictures and save the results without issue.
Sometime in late 2020 HP SMART was updated.
After this I could scan in a document BUT if I tried to edit it then whatever I changed once I pressed done the images was reset to the original image.
Later in the year I found that uninstalling and re-installing HP SMART fixed the problem.
However it has come back.
This isn't a big problem with jpegs because I can always use software like "Microsoft Photos" to edit the image after I have scanned it in.
Recently I wanted to create a PDF but my editing some of the items that I had scanned in.
I was stuck.
There isn't any software that I know of to edit a PDF.
Looking on the internet I can't see a solution that fits my printer (there may of course be one I have missed).
Please can anyone help?

(BTW. HP SMART performs this way on a Levono desktop and a HP laptop, Both windows 10)

Can you download and install the FULL featured printer software from HP for your operating system:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-photo-6200-all-in-one-printer-series/907304...
Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Thanks. I have run through the process and run the installation files. Some of which didn't do very much. However at the end of the process I have 2 pieces of software
HP SMART - That still will not edit scans. But is simple to use.
HP ENVY PHOTO SERIES - HP Scan - I can edit scans with this but it is a bit clumsier to use.
So thanks. I'll keep both pieces of software "HP SMART" for when I just want to scan in photos and then edit them using Microsoft Photos and the full function software for more complicated work.
