Hi @Smedley1960

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry you’re facing this issue—it must be incredibly frustrating when your printer refuses to accept jobs and you're met with confusing account-related messages.

Here’s a clear path forward to help resolve this:

Step 1: Uninstall HP Print and Scan Doctor

Even if you can’t locate it in File Explorer, it may still be installed. Follow these steps:

  1. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter. This opens the Programs and Features window.
  2. Look for HP Print and Scan Doctor in the list.
  3. If found, right-click and choose Uninstall.
  4. After uninstalling, restart your computer.

If it’s not listed there, it may have been installed as a standalone executable. In that case:

  • Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP or C:\Program Files\HP.
  • Look for a folder named HP Print and Scan Doctor or a file named HPPSDR.exe.
  • If found, delete the folder or file manually.

Step 2: Clear Temporary Files

  1. Press Windows + R, type %temp%, and press Enter.
  2. Select all files in the Temp folder and delete them.
  3. Restart your computer again.

Step 3: Reinstall Printer Software

To ensure your printer is properly configured and free of conflicts:

Download and install the full software package for your operating system.

Once installed, try printing again. If the issue persists, I can guide you through resetting the printer or checking your HP account connection.

You’re doing everything right by seeking help—let’s get your printer back to working smoothly.
