HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

I own an HP Envy Photo 7855 All in One Printer.

There are a number of dead email addresses that I'd like to remove (from schools, previous employers) and to which I no longer have access to the email account. The on-printer process to remove these addresses requires a PIN.

I've tried doing a factory reset on the printer and those email addresses are still present.

I also tried the troubleshooting guidance to navigate to EWS and adjust the settings (see snip below in italics) but there is no "Email"  option in the Scan menu.

Using Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  1. Log into the Embedded Web Server:

    • Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the printer.
    • Enter the printer's IP address into the web browser’s address bar. This will take you to the Embedded Web Server (EWS) interface.
  2. Navigate to Scan to Email Settings:

    • Once logged into EWS, go to the Scan tab.
    • Select the Email option.
  3. Edit or Remove Email Addresses:

    • Look for the section where email addresses are configured for the "send-to" feature.
    • Identify the invalid email addresses from the list.
    • Select the invalid email addresses and remove them.

I'm at my wit's end. This seems like it should be quite simple (like allowing the PIN to go to the printer admin email address)

@jeht,. Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you need to remove dead email addresses from your HP Envy Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer and you no longer have access to the email accounts for which these addresses were set up, you can follow these steps to manage email accounts directly via HP's Web Services or Printer Embedded Web Server:

Removing Email Addresses via HP Web Services

Access Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the network.
  • Print a Network Configuration Page to get the printer's IP address. You can do this by navigating to settings on the printer's touch screen.
  • Open a web browser on your PC and enter the printer's IP address.

Login to EWS:

  • You should see a login screen. If you have not set a password, the default admin login may be blank.

Navigate to Web Services:

  • After logging in, go to the Web Services tab or section.

Managing Email Addresses:

  • Find the section where email accounts are listed.
  • Select and delete the dead or old email addresses.

Alternative Method: Using Printer Control Panel

If you need the PIN to remove email addresses directly from the printer’s touch screen:

Restart Web Services:

  • On your printer’s touch screen, navigate to Setup > Web Services Setup.
  • Turn off Web Services and then turn it back on.
  • This process may reset settings and sometimes allow management without PIN restrictions.

Bypass PIN with Default Settings:

  • If resetting Web Services doesn't work, printers typically have a default PIN or admin password (often ‘0000’ or left blank). Try these default credentials.

Reset Web Services

If the above steps do not work and you need to reset things:

Access Web Services Setup:

  • From the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Web Services Setup.
  • Select Remove Web Services.
  • Follow the prompts to remove Web Services.

Re-enable Web Services:

  • After removing, you can re-enable Web Services again and set it up fresh, bypassing the need for previous email addresses.
