Unable to save scan in icloud sub folder

Yesterday I was able to scan a document and save it in an icloud google drive sub folder. It is no longer letting me do this.  The only way this works is if I save scan on desktop then drag into folder. Please HELP.

Are you scanning from HP Smart App or HP Easy scan?

Meanwhile, try the below suggestions-

1. Uninstall HP Smart 
2. Try updating mac/ios and printer firmware
3. Install HP Smart from the APP store 
   Try updating mac and printer firmware
    
   To update the printer's firmware, refer - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware 
    To update Mac, try these steps - How to update the software on your Mac
