On the HP Smart app, clicking Scan button , there is no error thrown and there is no scan happening either.
I have also installed the HP print service plugin, am able to print from mobile to the printer.
Pls advise what setting that i need to check so as to scan successfully from the printer and save the scanned file to mobile device.

Hi,
Scanning with your printer from the HP Smart App is not supported, your printer model is not supported by HP Smart as listed below (printing only would likely be supported for printers not supported by the app):

You may try using the Scan to Email app as a workaround to scan to your mobile device.
From the Apps menu select Scan to Email. If the app is not listed click Get more.
Follow the steps on screen to activate the app by providing your personal email which is used on your Android device, then provide the received PIN Code.
Once done from the Scan to Email app scan to your email, then access the scanned file sent to your email on your mobile device.

1 more thing, most of the scanner applications available in playstore, scan from the phone's camera and not from a remote scanner (such as the HP 128fw printer i recently bought).
So, pls advise for an android app that remotely scan from my HP scanner and save the image in the mobile device.
Thanks.

No,
the scan to email app is available on your printer screen, under the Apps menu as listed on my previous post, sorry If I was not clear to mention I referred to the printer screen, therefore didn't mention elsewhere.

Thanks for clarifying.
I tried the apps from the printer's touch screen, however, it either times out due to server not available or just times out after showing "downloading from web...." for several minutes.
Dont these apps come pre-set in the printer device, or is it available in the suppoet CD?
It is very weird that I have to install an app on a printer device which has only 3 major functions.
Sorry, but I am frustrated after trying several options for hours.
Is there any local technical support available ? I'm based out of India.
Appreciate your responses.
