HP OfficeJet Pro 9010

Hi

I have been trying to set up scan to email on my new HP Officejet Pro 9010 Printer but have been failing. This is my setting:

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

SMTP Port: 465

Always use secure connection: TICKED

Validate Server Certificate: UNTICKED (If i tick it it would not validate)

Server Authentication: Requires Authentication and keyed in my gmail account and password correctly

Additionally i went to my gmail account and allowed less secure apps. But when i tried to do a send test email, this error occurs.

Appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Hi,

open the network tab and select your active network connection type, then click on IPv4 Configuration.

Set a manual DNS of 8.8.8.8 as Preferred and 8.8.4.4 as Alternate.

Click Apply and confirm the changes, then return the Scan to Email settings dialog and click on Test.

May you see any difference now?

I also have recently lost the ability to scan from/to my gmail emails. I have OfficeJet Pro 8620 and had no problem previously. The error message is "User name or password is incorrect. Make sure both user name and password are valid"  I have changed my Google password and retried setting up the email scan wizard with no luck. I changed the DNS settings in my modem account but that did not change my ability to connect my outgoing e-mail so I can scan to email.

Hi,
A such may occur due to your Google account security settings.

First, open the following link and login to the same account as you set for the printer.

Note: if you are connected, sign out from your account, select your account and manually enter the password to ensure you indeed use the correct password, then click on Security from the left pane:
https://myaccount.google.com/security

Within the Signing in to Google section, check the "2-Step Verification" velue.

If it is set as "On", create and use an App-Specific Password with the printer:

https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en

If it is set as "Off", Within the Less secure app access section ensure that the feature is on.

If it is Off, click on Turn on access (not recommended) and toggle on the feature. Otherwise, the verification will fail.
Once you are done run a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem been resolved.

Regards,
Shlomi

Hi Shlomil,

I tried changing the DNS and send a test, but the error is the same. No changes.
