I am trying to fax a document and when I click on "mobile fax" tile, I sign in, and click submit, I get an error at the bottom of my screen saying "unable to sign in to HP account.  Try again later".  I know that I've put my sign in information correctly because I have even reset the password.

Follow the steps below-

 

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Assign manual IP to the printer

The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers

 

Try the following troubleshooting tips when fax fails to send-

  • Look for an error and solution in the HP Smart app. Check the HP Smart app for a notification  or error message, and then follow the instructions to resolve the error.

  • Make sure the fax number you dialed is correct and the recipient is ready for your fax. A fax might fail because the recipient fax machine is busy, offline, or no longer in use.

  • Try again. Temporary disruptions in internet service or the phone system might cause your fax to fail.

Please check if you have latest HP Smart app installed in your device. Some older versions are not supported for HP account sign in.  Please refer to the knowledge base document for more details.
