Product: HP Officejet 8600 Pro

Fix the firmware so you can connect and allow scan to email to work with TLS 1.2 & 1.3.

 

The old protocols are NOT SECURE and there is no reason to buy a new printer for a BASIC software update.  OR release the firmware to the general public so someone that actually cares about the product can do the update.

TLS 1.2 was released in 2008 and HP still does not support this cryptographic protocol in their business (!!!) products in 2020. I was assuming that HP is a "security aware" company.  However, I have serious doubts now. Security leaks in TLS 1.0 and 1.1 have been known for years, but HP seems not to be able or willing to fix this.
