HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

Mac OS Sequoia 15.2 (Not listed here) To Scan, I go to HP Smart. Screen switches to Enable local network permission to use HP Smart with your printers. There is a dialog box to open, but I do not know what to choose.  I have not had to do this in thee past.  I cannot get to speak to a rep!

Hi @CSN2

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like the HP Smart app is requesting local network permissions to function properly on macOS Sequoia.

This is a security feature introduced in recent macOS versions to control app access to your local network.

Here's how you can enable it:

Steps to Enable Local Network Permission:

Open System Settings:

  • On your Mac, go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security.

Find Local Network Access:

  • Scroll down to the Privacy & Security section and select Local Network.

Enable HP Smart:

  • Look for HP Smart in the list of apps. Toggle it on to allow local network access.

Restart HP Smart:

  • Close and reopen the HP Smart app to ensure the changes take effect.
  • If you don't see HP Smart listed under Local Network, try reinstalling the app and then checking again.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

thank you.  I shall try this; however, I also found that I could access the scanner once I hit the icon for checking locations.
