Ventura 13.4 MacOS incompatible with xpress M885FW

Can anyone help me please?

Since installing Ventura 13.4 following recent Mac hard drive replacement the scanning function is not supported on my Samsung Xpress M2885FW multi function 2014 model printer.

Latest drivers installed recently from HP website. They don't work with Ventura. I get this window..

"Samsung Easy Printer Manager"

"Scan application supported by Easy Printer Manager is not installed. Please install scan application".

I tried re installing, deleting printers, resetting printers, staring in Safe Mode, and even Apple tech support could not help. It seems Ventura and Samsung(HP) scanner cannot communicate. The print function and wireless function work fine. Printer is connected to Mac with a USB. Anyone else had this issue and is there a work around. Reluctant to replace a perfectly good printer!

Hi.

Got the same pb with C460 Series (certainly same generation as ur printer). Software is installed (Easy Printer Manager) but i don't see the app anywhere to run it. When i run it from the archive from what i've "installed" it, I've got the same error as u. Printing (network connection) work perfectly. Only scan doesn't...

Do i really need to install Windows instead (iMac Intel 2020) to got this function to work??

Samsung/HP certainly doesn't support yet this kind of product but it's not like it's a very old technology which need a specific development.

Does Samsung/HP think like Apple to force customer to change devices every nearly year when they refresh their products??

If someone got solution please share it.

Hi there Yab 974  no so far no solution other than go back to an older Mac operating system.

Sadly I think I may have to shell out and buy a new printer. What a waste! I dont scan very often but it is a useful feature to have on a printer.

I bet when I do a fix will be available!

Now on a phone I take photo of the docs  I  need to scan and get around it that way... I guess that means scanning is obsolete! ... No scanner required! For those who have to scan a lot of paper it is not a solution though.

I cant even access HP support as the serial number of my printer is not recognised so I cant access any help from HP and there is no telephone number to call. All deeply frustrating and puts me off buying another Samsung or HP printer. When eventually I do buy another laser printer I will ensure that there is a contactable support!
