Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Pavilion p6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've downloaded that latest complete driver package for my HP OfficeJet 6500 AIO.  I'd like to have some software to control the scanner from my desktop, similar to how HP Solution Center did for me in the past.

After installing the driver and plugging in the USB connection for the AIO, the on-screen message indicated that the driver was installed and the device ready.  Unfortunately, there was no scanning software installed to my PC (or at least  I can't find any evidence of any software).  I'm left to using the 6500's control panel for scanning.  HP Scan launches and operates the scanner, but I have absolutely no control over the function.  I'd especially like to be able to (as before with Solution Center) scan multiple photos at once and have each photo saved as a separate file.

Any helpful directions will be much appreciated.

Hi,

the HP Solution Center is available as part of the HP Officejet 6500 E709 Full Feature Software and Drivers.

What items are listed when you search for HP under Control Panel > Uninstall a Program? it is possible some software items were not selected to be installed as part of the software.

Hi ShlomiL,

At the Windows Control Panel, I right-clicked on the "HP Photosmart Officejet and Deskjet All-In-One Driver Software 13.0 Rel. B" icon.  The following programs are listed as options to uninstall:

HP Imaging Device Functions  77MB

Shop for HP Supplies  26 MB

HP Solution Center  66 MB

OCR Software by I.R.I.S.  112 MB

HP Photosmart Officejet and Deskjet All-In-One Driver Software  288 MB

HP Customer Participation Program  32 MB

HP Smart Web Printing  61 MB

Looks like HP Solution Center is installed, but I've not been able to locate/access it.  It is not listed in the Start/All Programs list, even within the HP-related folders and sub-folders found there.

I'll be glad provide any other info I can to assist you in figuring this out.  Thanks much.

I located the solution to my problem in the Community!

I ran a search on "HP Solution Center" and found someone who had the same issue I do.

Fix was to go to Control Panel and uninstall all programs listed under the HP Officejet 6500 folder.

I then reinstalled the latest complete driver for my AIO.  When completed, I plugged in the USB connector and voila!!  The HP installer program launched and installed all the software INCLUDING HP Solution Center!  All is running as it should.

All is well.  Thank you HP Support Community!
