We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I have wireless connection. The printer works with no problem. And it will scan on the glass plate but NOT produce PDFs.

I want to feed multiple double-sided sheets through the document feeder and make PDF of them.

I found a Youtube video that told me to use HP Scan but if I try to use this I get an error message "Scanner communication cannot be established ..." . This makes no sense as the computer can obviously delect the printer/scanner.

I have also tried HP Smart which takes a very long time to start. When I can eventually choose Scan I still cannot choose double-sided or PDF. If I put the sheets through the feeder it just copies one side of them and makes JPEGs.

What can I do? With a previous HP printer/scanner this was no problem and it was all controlled from the control panel on the device itself.

Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer and that both are on the same network. If the printer is connected via USB, make sure the cable is securely plugged in.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers and software installed for your printer. Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your specific printer model. Install them on your computer and restart it if necessary.

 

HP Scan Software: Since you mentioned that you received an error message with HP Scan, try the following steps:

  • Uninstall the existing HP Scan software from your computer.
  • Download and install the latest version of HP Scan software from the HP website.
  • Restart your computer after installation.

 

HP Smart App: If HP Scan continues to give you trouble, you can try using the HP Smart app to scan and create PDFs. Follow these steps:

  • Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed and updated.
  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click on "Scan" and select your printer.
  • Choose "Document" as the scan type.
  • If the option for double-sided scanning or saving as PDF is not visible, try going through the scan settings to see if there's an option to enable double-sided scanning and PDF creation.

 

Document Feeder Settings: When using the document feeder, you should have an option to choose whether you want single-sided or double-sided scanning. Make sure you select "Double-sided" if you want to scan both sides of the pages. Also, check for an option to save the scanned document as a PDF.

Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, other software or security settings on your computer can interfere with scanning. Make sure no firewall or security software is blocking communication between your computer and the printer.

Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve scanning issues.
