Was a cord supposed to come with the printer that has fax?

It's the HP Officejet Pro 8030 series. 

Do I buy the cord for the fax and if I do,where do I get it from?

This is a simple "two-wire" phone cord.

Sorry. I only tested a fax on HP printer once, few years back. I believe HP used different fax cord for HP AIO or MFP If you do not have the original cord, use a cord with connectors that have two wire leads, not four.
