What happened to receiving mobile faxes?

I know I used to be able to RECEIVE mobile faxes because I have a fax number saved and there is one place I would specifically get faxes from.  However today when a fax was sent to me I got a call from a number saying they got my faxed documents. I asked what their fax# was to make sure I didn’t give wrong number - but the fax# was the same as MY fax number I was getting faxes from. 

every thing online says it doesn’t receive faxes but I know I used to. Is there a work around getting faxes sent to you by mobile fax??

If you are referring to HP Mobile Fax, then -

No, there is no published workaround to bypass the limitations of the application.

Having had someone else receive a fox intended for you, perhaps consider the contents of the faxes you are trying to receive.  Should you be sent a fax that contains personal information and that fax wanders off to another destination, the person who sent you the fax might be understandably upset.

The printer fax hardware can accept faxes - the printer is old but as along as you have a landline and a two-wire phone cable, the fax hardware and setup might still work.
