I have an HP Envy 4500 printer.
My question is:
Is there a maximum amount of pages I can scan to one PDF?

This printer has only 32MB of memory --
The amount of printer memory impacts what the printer can handle in terms of stored data and translation of received information.
The device sending the data is part of the equation, too.
There is a formula for determining the page count --
Some of what you need might include all the information for the document, including document total page count, data density, type of document (for translating into data the printer understands), amount of resource required on the device (computer) and the current load of running processes on the device, the network capacity (and current load).
The application or software used to open, view, configure, and submit the job might be limited.
Lacking any of the data except the smaller amount of printer memory, the answer is:
The printer can accept, scan, and store, as many pages of a particular document until it cannot do so.
Then the job fails.
Yes, I know -- this is not what you wanted.
Consider the size of the printer memory and any previous jobs you've run on the printer.
If you have had document scans fail at ten pages, the limit is under ten pages.
Try scanning five pages to test whether you can scan five pages of your document AND save the finished product.
Increase the page count until the job fails.

The maximum number of pages that can be scanned into a single PDF file can vary depending on several factors:
Scanning Software/Device Limitations: Some scanning software or devices may have limitations on the number of pages they can scan into a single PDF file in one session. This limitation can vary based on the software or device specifications.
File Size Limitations: The size of a PDF file is influenced by various factors, including the resolution of scanned pages, color depth, compression, and content complexity. Larger files might become unwieldy or difficult to handle, so some scanners or software might have a cap on the file size they can create.
System Resources: The capacity of your computer or the system you're using might also affect the maximum number of pages that can be scanned into a single PDF file. Insufficient memory or processing power could limit the size of the resulting PDF.
In practice, modern scanning software or devices often support scanning numerous pages into a single PDF file, sometimes hundreds or even thousands of pages. However, the practical limit might be influenced by the factors mentioned above.
