When I scan a document , I then chose to send to a folder, if I choose PDF the sofware crashes

HP Envy 7640 scanning software.  after scanning a document, i select scan to file and chose the PdF format. when I execute the command, the software crashes. I recently updated the drivers and this problem started after installing the update.
