Hi @Oil1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Clean the Scanner Glass and ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) Glass:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Open the scanner lid.
  • Clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with glass cleaner.
  • Clean the ADF glass strip in a similar manner.
  • Ensure no debris or smudges remain on the glass.

Perform a Reset:

  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Allow the printer to go through its startup routine.

Test Scanning using Different Methods:

  • Try scanning using both the scanner glass and the ADF.
  • Check if the issue persists with both methods.

Software Update:

  • Ensure that you have the latest software and firmware updates installed for your printer and scanner. Visit the HP Support website to download and install any available updates.

Change Scan Resolution Settings:

  • Open HP Scan software on your computer.
  • Select the scan profile or settings.
  • Increase the resolution setting to improve image quality.
