My HP ENVY 6430e has scanned before using the HP app on iPhone. Now it says printer offline and needs to be connected. I don’t use the printer but have used the scanner before. I don’t need ink but the orange ink light is flashing. The Wi-Fi is connected. The error code is E0. Is someone real able to help me please?

If your HP ENVY 6430e is giving you a "printer offline" message when trying to scan, even though it has scanned successfully in the past, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and properly connected to Wi-Fi. Sometimes, power cycling the printer can help.

2. Restart the Printer and Router:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Also, restart your Wi-Fi router. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.

3. Check Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Verify that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone. You can check this on the printer's control panel.

4. Update the HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your iPhone. Sometimes updates can fix connectivity issues.

5. Remove and Re-add the Printer in HP Smart:

  • Open the HP Smart app, remove the printer from your account, and then re-add it. This can help refresh the connection.

6. Check for Ink Issues:

  • The orange ink light flashing typically indicates that the printer is low on ink or there is a cartridge issue. Even if you're not using the printer, it may still require ink to function as a scanner. You may need to replace the cartridge or at least check that they are properly installed.

7. Use the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • If your printer has a touchscreen or buttons, navigate to the Settings or Network menu and ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

8. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • If you have access to a computer, download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can help diagnose and fix issues with printing and scanning.

9. Check Firewall Settings:

  • If you’re using a firewall on your network, ensure that it’s not blocking the printer's connection. You may need to temporarily disable it to test the connection.

Thank you Rachel571 for your help. Unfortunately  when I try to scan the message is still saying printer offline. I cannot get the wi fi to connect either and I’ve followed all the suggestions. The wi fi was connected when I previously used the printer to scan. Any further advice would be much appreciated.
