I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HP software, Universal HP Fax Driver, Power Cycle the Printer, Restart the computer but none of these steps worked for me.

Hi @Optomize,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering an issue where the fax job is stuck in the "spooling" phase, which could be due to driver or communication issues between the computer and the printer. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

1. Update the Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

Sometimes, an outdated firmware version can cause issues with faxing. Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer.
  • Download and install the latest firmware, following the provided instructions.

2. Check the Fax Settings

Ensure that the fax settings are configured correctly on both the printer and the computer. You can check the settings on the printer's control panel and make sure the fax function is enabled.

3. Try Using a Different Fax Driver

If the issue persists with the HP Universal Fax Driver, consider trying a different driver version:

  • Uninstall the current fax driver.
  • Install the fax driver specifically for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301cdw from the HP Support website.

4. Check for Print Spooler Issues

A problem with the Windows print spooler service could be preventing the fax from being sent. Here's how to troubleshoot the spooler:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and choose Restart.
  • You can also try stopping the service, then restarting it manually.

5. Try Sending the Fax Directly from the Printer

If possible, try sending the fax directly from the printer using the printer's built-in control panel, bypassing the computer entirely. This can help rule out issues related to the computer or fax software.

6. Check for Interference from Other Programs

Sometimes, other programs running in the background can interfere with the fax process. Try temporarily disabling any antivirus or firewall software to see if that resolves the issue.

7. Check Fax Line and Connection

Ensure that the fax line is working correctly and connected properly. A faulty line or connection can cause faxing to fail.

8. Try Faxing from Another Computer

If possible, try sending the fax from a different computer. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your current setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
