HP Smart:  Version 16.15.1 (latest, I believe)

When editing a scan, the ability to rotate the scan by individual degrees has been lost in the latest update.  There is a row of dots and a 0.0 with more dots which is what is supposed to be the rotation by degrees, but cannot change.  Rotations by 90 degrees are possible but not by small amounts....

I have this problem, too! It's awful. Please fix, HP!

You can rotate a scan - but it takes a few extra mouse clicks.  One doesn't use the obvious rotate function.  Instead, after one "Detects Edges" and clicks "Next" the scan comes appears.  In the UR corner of the "Preview" scan, click on the small blue circle with the three white dots in it and select "Edit" from the small menu that appears.  On this "Edit" screen, click on the "Crop" tool in the lower left corner.  On this "Crop" screen, in the LR corner is the tool that permits you to rotate the image. Click on it and when the rotation is correct, click on "Done" in the UR corner.  Then you can save it....

I see the button in the lower right hand corner here than can be used to rotate by 90 degrees and the one on the bottom left for flipping. I don't see anything that can be used to rotate by less than 90 degrees. It looks like I should be able to interact with the section that says "0.0", but neither clicking, typing, nor clicking and dragging appear to have any effect on that section.

Hi Cramer,

I know exactly what you are referring to.  The previous version of HP Smart allowed one to rotate by degrees and the "0.0" was how one did it.  I used to do it frequently to straighten a scan.  Now, one can straighten it when you "detect edges", the first window that comes up after a scan is generated.  In that first scan, the program puts a total of 8 blue circles - also called "grab handles"  - at the corners and the sides  where it thinks the  borders of the scanned image appears.  Move the 4 blue corner circles where you want the corners of the final scan to be and click "detect edges" (or move the circles in the sides)..  That is the key!!  The scan will now be straight and adjustment by degrees is hopefully not required.  After you have "detected edges", the only option is to rotate by 90 degrees; no option to rotate by degrees is possible.

Yeah, I've been using that workaround as well. Thanks for the pointers! But the original rotation feature (the 0.0) is still broken, and that bug should be fixed.
