@1Weebee, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

For the HP Officejet 4650, when you're using the Auto Document Feeder (ADF) for scanning, you should place the papers face up with the top of the page going into the feeder first.

Here’s the general process:

Place the documents face up in the ADF tray.

The document’s top edge should enter the feeder first (the side with text should be facing up).

Ensure that the paper is aligned with the guides in the tray to avoid paper jams.

If you’re scanning double-sided documents (duplex scanning), the printer will automatically scan both sides if the option is selected in the settings.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
