Hi @Elder73

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you're scanning or printing PDF files with an HP DeskJet 3860, the location where the PDF files are saved typically depends on how you're creating them:

1. Scanning with HP Smart App

If you're using the HP Smart App to scan documents:

The app usually saves scanned files to a default folder, like the Documents or Pictures folder on your computer.

You can check or set the save location in the app's settings under the "Scan" or "File Save" options.

2. Printing from a Computer

If you're printing a PDF, it will usually remain in its original location (e.g., Desktop, Downloads, or a custom folder). You can check this by looking at the file's location before printing.

3. Downloading from a Web Browser

If you downloaded a PDF file from a browser, it typically goes to your default Downloads folder unless you've set a custom save path.

4. Scanning or Saving via Mobile Devices

On mobile, if you're using the HP Smart App or scanning directly, PDFs are usually saved in the app itself or in your phone's Files or Downloads folder.

If you're having trouble locating a saved PDF file, try searching for .pdf in your computer or device's search bar. This should help you track it down!
