I see an update was done and im no longer able to access my previous fax log or fax options at all. Is fax no longer available? Is there anyway to retrieve my sent fax log?

 Here are some steps and considerations to help you troubleshoot and potentially recover your fax options and history:

 

Check Fax Accessory Status

Ensure that the fax accessory is installed and functioning correctly. You can check the status by printing a Fax Accessory Page:

  1. On the control panel, scroll to and touch the Administration icon.
  2. Scroll to Information.
  3. Scroll to Configuration/Status Pages.
  4. Scroll to Configuration page to print the configuration pages.
  5. Check the Hardware Information for Modem Status:
  • Operational/Enabled: The analog-fax accessory is installed and ready.
  • Operational/Disabled: The fax accessory is installed but has been disabled, possibly due to HP Digital Sending utility settings.

Access Fax Reports and Logs

You should be able to access fax logs and reports through the device’s Administration menu:

  1. On the control panel, touch the Administration button.
  2. Go to Reports > Fax Reports.
  3. Touch Fax Activity Log to print the report.

Recovering Fax Logs

If your device's update cleared or hidden the fax logs, typically these logs can be printed or viewed within the Administration menu. It's crucial to periodically print these logs for record-keeping as the database retains the most recent 500 fax entries.

 

Re-enabling Fax Features

If the fax features are not displaying, check your device’s software configuration to ensure the analog fax feature is enabled using the HP MFP Digital Sending Software Configuration utility.
