Where does my document go when I scan it? I can't find it in my scans or my documents.

I just scanned a document, but can't find where it went.  It's not in My Scans and it's not in My 
Documents

Scan destinations vary by application / software used to configure the job and the device (computer, tablet, phone) on which that job is run.

For example,

Should you be using Windows and the full driver printer software is installed

AND

If you are using HP Scan, then the Destination defaults to whatever is in the the "Save To" location.

HP Scan can be told to change that default destination.

HP Smart (at writing) does not understand the concept of a default destination folder.

HP Smart - Windows - might pre-select the most recent folder used for a previous job but you do have to accept or modify the folder choice and then click Save .

HP Smart - Shortcuts - always select the hard-coded Cloud Storage folder / sub-folder as designated in the Shortcut used to save the content.

Scan from printer to device (for example, the computer), might land content into OneDrive (sub-folder) Documents or Pictures (depending on file type).    If not your Cloud Storage, then check your local Documents or Pictures folder in your account.

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan > Preset = Document - Save

HP Smart (at writing) does not understand the concept of default destination.

Each scan must be provided with a destination else the file might be saved in the last (most recent) destination used.
