I have been unable to use the ADF. The drivers only support DOS or PC's
I have asked this question before. So far I have received answers ranging from "working on the driver for OS15"; The driver will be out shortly"; SILENCE!!! (from Achmed the dead terrorist - I kill you)
Should I recycle this NOT all-in-one printer?

Are you able to make photocopies using the ADF? - NO
This shows that the printer hardware has failed and hence it is not a driver related issue. Refer to the document ADF does not pick paper or feeds in too many sheets to isolate and resolve the issue.

To resolve this issue, make sure to update to the latest version of macOS Catalina and HP Easy Scan. Here is how you do it-
To download macOS software updates, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Software Update.
Update HP Easy Scan: Open HP Easy Scan. On the upper bar, click HP Easy Scan, click Check for Updates, and then install any available updates.
Now, try scanning.

I am amazed that you believe that I have never completed my homework prior to addressing this forum.
The software is up to date!!!!!
Automatic Document Feeder is Empty
No items were detected in the Automatic Document Feeder. Please place your originals into the Automatic Document Feeder and start the scan again.
I have a screenshot if you wish to observe
If you are not a user of APPLE hardware or Software I would be nice if a person qualified would be less snarky

To further isolate the issue, I'd like to know the following-
- Does this error message appear while using HP Easy Scan?
- Are you able to make photocopies using the ADF?
- Have you tried using HP Smart App or the Apple Image Capture, does it work?

I chose this printer at Staples because of the customer service person's recommendation that it would work with the Apple Operating system. It would be nice to have an automatic document feeder that is capable of duplexing, multiple page duplexing and easy transfer to the desktop.
Please advise if there is any possibility that HP will have a driver for the OS.X.XV.III

The directions in the "ADF does not pick paper or feeds in too many sheets" were all it needed. Something about a good D&C.
