Hi @BigK312

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you're experiencing scanning problems with your new HP 4252 E printer on Windows 11, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Scanner Issues on HP 4252 E

Step 1: Verify Connections

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • For USB connections, ensure the cable is secure. For wireless connections, verify that the printer is connected to the correct network.

Step 2: Restart Devices

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source for a minute. Turn off your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and restart your computer.

Step 3: Update Printer Drivers and Software

  • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer model.
  • Ensure Windows 11 updates are installed, as they may contain specific compatibility fixes.

Step 4: Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

Step 5: Check Scanner Settings

  • Open the HP Smart app or the scanning software you are using.
  • Ensure that the settings are correctly configured for your scanning task (resolution, format, etc.).
  • Try scanning with different settings to see if the error persists.

Step 6: Reinstall HP Software

  • Sometimes a fresh installation resolves issues. Uninstall the current HP printer software and drivers from your computer.
  • Restart your computer and reinstall the printer software from the HP Support website.

Step 7: Perform a Hard Reset

  • With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer.

Let me know how it goes after trying these steps. You're doing the right thing by reaching out early—let’s get this sorted.
