Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

My printer HP DeskkJet 3635 all of a sudden defaults and saves all scanned documents as bmp.  In the past I can toggle betwen saving as jpg or pdf file.  How can I resolve this?   Need help soonest

I use Windows 7 Professional.  Can you please help me resolve why my scanned docs are now automatically saved as bmp in lieu of jpg or pdf.
