ShlomiL - By the way, as I've already done some of the clean-up you had suggested in the earlier part of this thread, my 8500 A909g does NOT appear in Devices and Printers in my Win 10, but it DOES appear in Network under "Printers".
I guess this makes sense, as the 8500 A909g is on my home LAN network through my WiFi router so it can be used by my other PCs, and of course the 8500 A909g has its own embedded web server, which I can access from Win 10. (The printer is WiFi, not wired.)
FWIW, in Win 10, the Network right-click "Properties" shows the printer's IPV6 address as a link, which I've never personally used before. If I click on it and the printer's web page comes up in my Firefox browser, the web page shows me the IPV4 address. I'm sure this is not important - just FYI.
Thanks. Waiting for your info from my last (2nd) personal message to you of yesterday.

Shlomi - Update after two months:
1) Never got your final private message with the "secret sauce" and still very curious. I just re-ran the HP System Diagnostics and sent you a new Private Message.
(Unfortunately, the entire log file is too long, so I deleted the Registry Data. If you need, is there a way for me to send you directly?)
2) Yesterday, on my Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit (not yet my Win 10), I did a deep uninstall of our HP 8500 AIO (A909g) per all your instructions here, and then installed OJP8500vA909_Corporate_64bit_14.exe from the ftp link in one of your earlier PMs. It seems to be a good set of drivers for me. I can print to the 8500 and (when I turn OFF password protected sharing) I can scan from the 8500 to a designated folder on the Win 7, just as I can with my older XP machine.
a) However, those reduced drivers do NOT give me the 8500 Fax capability that I have on my XP machine. (Print to 8500 Fax.) It's not 100% necessary any more -- who uses fax now anyway? -- but would be nice to have. Is there anything I can add for that? Ideally without installing HP's full set of features, which I don't want.
b) Is OJP8500vA909_Corporate_64bit_14.exe from your October ftp link the "Corporate Edition" or the "Corporate Scan Application Edition"? I think it's only the "Corporate Edition" because I don't see a new Scan Document program desktop icon. Do you have a similar, good ftp link to the "Corporate Scan Application Edition"? Again, for the 64-bit editions of Win 7 Pro and Win 10 Pro.
3) In Device Manager, under Imaging devices, the OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g is "working properly". However, under Multifunction adapters (which is normally hidden), it says "This device is disabled. (Code 22) Click Enable Device to enable this device." Also, under the tab "Driver", there is no driver info.
I have NOT clicked to enable, but why did I get this?
Is this off because I have now again "Turned ON password protected sharing"?
4) Now (after last night's uninstall of everything HP and reinstall of your ftp Corporate 64-bit), in the Win 7 Devices and Printers, the 8500 appears only ONCE as "HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g Series", and it is the default printer. Good!
However, if I go to my Win 7 Network list, it appears under the caption "Printers (1)" as "HP9779E3 (HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g)". If I right-click, it prompts me to "Install", which I shall NOT do.
I mention this because I used to see the printer twice under Devices and Printers with both these captions. So the Network list entry looks to me to be slightly different from the Devices and Printers entry.
Is there any particular reason for this or aspect to this?
Thanks, Shlomi! (And don't forget to check your private messages.)
