I purchased a new computer with a Windows 11 operating system. I installed the latest driver for My HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP which is from March 2021 (before Windows 11 was available). My printer always prints. However, my scanner sometimes is not detected. I go into Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) which already has the status of Startup type: Automatic and Service Status: Running. The solution is to Stop the service, click Start to start the service, and then click Apply and OK. How can I contact HP for HP to fix this apparent bug with Windows 11? I do not have an active warranty since I bought this printer a while ago.

I was able to contact HP and they documented my issue. They do not know when an updated driver will be available that works all the time with Windows 11. They recommend the process that I wrote below. They also suggested using HP Smart to scan.
