I want to send a fax on my HP 7855 wireless printer. When I try I get a “no answer” response

This typically happens if you have an incorrect fax number or the recipient's fax machine is not on and ready. Please confirm the fax number and make sure that the recipient's fax machine is on and ready. If the issue persists, disconnect and reconnect the phone cord from the wall outlet and the 1-Line port on the fax machine. If available, try sending the fax through another wall jack and use the phone cord that shipped with the fax machine. Enabling Redial-no answer option should also help. Here is how to enable Redial-no answer option:

1.) From the printer control panel display, touch Fax .

2.) Touch Setup , and then touch Preferences .

3.) Touch Auto Redial.

4.) Turn on No Answer Redial.

It turns out the hp 7855 multipurpose printer does not send faxes wirelessly. A phone line is required to send faxes. However I was able to purchase a third party electronic fax app from the App Store that accepts an email attachment of the file I needed to send, and they in turn sent the fax for me. It seems deceptive to say that the 7855 is wireless when in fact one of its major functions requires a land line instead of WiFi. The app I used, e-fax, costs $15.99 per month. In effect, I am leasing my hp printer for $15.99 per month if I want access to its full functionality.
