The wireless printer is online and executing the printing prompts but when I try to use the scanner it is not detected.

I understand you are able to print but not scan.
Which app are you using to scan?
Are you using the HP Smart app? If yes, check for updates or reinstall the app and check if that helps.

Hi, thank you very much for your answer. I was using the Windows scanning tool because the HP Smart app was not able to recognize the scanner since the beginning. Indeed I reinstalled completely the software and now it works again and also the HP Smart app. Also the HP Scan and Capture app is working. Kind regards.
