Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
- Try printing.
If you are not able to print, you may install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how.
Let me know how this goes.

I followed all of the steps as you laid out above. When printing the test page, it makes a sound like it is going to start printing and then it does nothing. The printer status is stuck on "processing".

That's unfortunate. If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

@Kbmanifold
I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.

It will not let me talk to an agent without a case number and it will not give me a case number because my printer is out of warranty! I am not happy with this at all. I've had this printer only about 3 years and printer/copied less than 6000 pages that entire time. There is no reason for the printer to have stopped working. I am tired of trying to talk to an actual human to get help and getting the run around with "virtual assistant" and hp support page. I'm very tempted to just go grab an epson.

Apologies for the inconvenience. If the printer is out of warranty, I do not have other options to offer you apart from an upgrade.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
