HI all, I installed drivers from HP Support, after a hundred of instalation drivers faillings the printer list 10-15 pages and stop printinting. I erase the drivers and install the drivers once again from the same HP support, so the printer is printing using USB cable, but it don't scan and tell me that You need a WIA driver to use this device to scan... Please help me to understand those special installation of the HP LaserJet MFP 140we, 7MD72E. From where to download WIA driver to begin scanning using USB cable. Thanks, waiting with interest your replay ! Can explain from HP Support something to use this MFP printer as scanner and also more than 20 pages to print?

 

I buyed this printer to USE IT - TO PRINT AND TO SCAN, not to loose time with instalation of those (...) drivers and make children games ! ! !

Here’s how to resolve it:

 

1. Download the Correct WIA Driver

  • HP printers require a Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) driver for scanning.
  • You can download the official HP LaserJet MFP M140we driver from HP Support.
  • Ensure you select the Windows 7 (64-bit) version.

2. Install the Driver Properly

  • Uninstall previous drivers:
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.
    • Remove all HP printer-related software.
  • Reinstall the driver:
    • Download and install the HP LaserJet MFP M140we full software package from HP Support.
    • Restart your computer after installation.

3. Enable WIA Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Locate Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
  • Right-click and select Start (if stopped).
  • Set Startup Type to Automatic.

4. Fix Printing Limitations

  • If your printer stops after 10-15 pages, check:
    • Print Spooler settings:
      • Open Services (services.msc).
      • Locate Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
    • Printer memory settings:
      • Open HP Smart or HP Printer Assistant.
      • Adjust print job settings to avoid memory overload.
