Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

Since the recent upgrade to Adboe Acrobat DC reader scannig no longer works on my Photosmart 7510.  All PDF scans produce an Acrobat error "There was an error while reading a stream".

There are no firmware updates for the printer apparently....there is a post on the Adobe site where that fixed somebody else.

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2230395

So it seems as though the PDF being produced by the printer needs fixing.

Thanks

Reinstalling Acrobat Reader did not fix it.

Foxit reader does work.

I'm doing this via the web interface so the printer drivers aren't involved.

It only seems to happen on multipage pdf scans via the web scan.

This is an example document that Acrobat cannot read.

Although Acrobat may indeed have a bug there's an awful lot mores users of it than the Photosmart 7510.

I've also reported the problem to Acrobat so we'll see where the finger pointing goes....:-)

Hi @Mike_Black,

I am glad that  Foxit Reader works which signifies that there is nothing wrong with the printer and is a limitation of the Adobe acrobat reader. It has been an absolute privilege to have worked and shared this platform with you.:) You've done a superlative job of troubleshooting and kudos to you for that. 🙂

Trust me I've done everything I can to help you here, by keeping your best interest in mind.

I also have a problem with the Web Scan on my all-in-one printer HP 6830. This is the type of scanning I use most often. Unfortunately, when I scan documents with multiple pages using WebScan, it produces invalid PDF documents - when I open them in Adobe Acrobat, it gives error "There was an error while reading a stream". I cannot even print these PDFs.

From the Adobe pages, I notice that people only fix this by updating the printer/scanner firmware. I believe I have the latest firmware.

Please advise.
