Hi @AGSandman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To start a new scan without turning off the HP Smart app on an HP printer, you can follow these steps:

Place the Document or Photo: Ensure that the document or photo you want to scan is placed correctly on the scanner glass or into the automatic document feeder (if your printer has one).

Open the HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

Select Scan: In the HP Smart app, look for the "Scan" option. This might be represented by an icon or labeled as "Scan" or "Scan Documents."

Choose the Scanner: If you have multiple HP printers connected to the HP Smart app, select the one you want to use for scanning.

Adjust Scan Settings: Depending on the HP Smart app version and your device, you may have the option to adjust scan settings such as scan type (document or photo), color mode, resolution, file format, and more. Make any necessary adjustments to fit your scanning needs.

Scan the Document or Photo: Once you've configured the scan settings, click or tap on the "Scan" button to start the scanning process. The HP Smart app will communicate with your printer to initiate the scan.

Save the Scan: After the scan is complete, the HP Smart app will display the scanned document or photo on your screen. You can review it to ensure it's captured correctly. If everything looks good, save the scan to your desired location, such as your computer or cloud storage.

Start a New Scan: To start a new scan, simply return to the scan section of the HP Smart app and repeat the process from step 3.

By following these steps, you can perform multiple scans in succession without the need to turn off the HP Smart app between scans. The app will stay active and ready for the next scanning task.

Kindly refer to this document and see how it goes.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
