Whaty type of printer do you have?
In the back of the printer, the main telephone line goes into LINE 1. In LINE 2 of the printer, the actual telephone should be plugged in.
Go to your Advanced settings on your printer and change a few things.
1. Error Correction Mode (turn it OFF)
2. Also change your DISTINCTIVE RING PATTERN to ALL
Let me know the results.
Please mark a reply "ACCEPTED AS SOLUTION" if it solved your problem, so others can find it.

Hi there everyone, and hopefully a few printer experts lol. I have had the same Officejet all in one 4630. I have not changed anything that I am aware of, however my home phone calls are going to my fax (yes they have the same number) but I never had a problem before. Not to much come up in the window of the printer just a little basic stuff......EXAMPLE: scroll down to fax push OK auto answer on bla bla, all looks the same to me. HELP I know it's probably simple stupid, but then again turning 60 this month so am I, getting stupid that is. Still a dumbass trying to get intimate if you will with my smartass phone (Sorry) any help would be appreciated I am at least commuter literate.
Kindly,
Jeanine
