hello, the automatic feeder does not work. The paper is not recognized. I have tried cleaning as the booklet suggested, unplugged the back as suggested . It is no longer under warrenty. Not sure how to fix it, if it is worth ggetting someone in to fix or I should jus buy a new printer/scanner/fax machine. Any idea how to fix this porblem?

I understand That the ADF is not working.
No worries, I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you try to change any setting in the printer?
Are you facing the problem after an update?
Follow the below steps to get the issue fixed.
Remove the paper from the ADF and make sure that the paper is clean, doesn’t have staples or labels, is undamaged and in good condition, and then reload the paper into the ADF.
The type and condition of paper can affect the way the ADF picks paper.
-
Remove the paper from the ADF.
-
As a test, obtain 10 sheets of new plain white paper to form a stack of paper.
-
Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
-
Insert the stack of paper into the ADF input tray. Make sure the stack is inserted fully into the input tray and that the printer recognizes that paper has been loaded. When the paper is properly loaded into the ADF, the printer should make a sound, emit a light from an LED, or display a message on the control panel.
-
Slide in the paper width guide to the edge of the paper stack. Make sure that the guide rests gently against the paper stack and does not bind it.
-
Try using the ADF again
