Hi there, since yesterday the scan shows a small black stripe 35mm from the right side of the document, when it's scanned via document feeder (b/w and colour and independently of the used software).
When it's scanned via the scanner glas everything is ok.
Reboot and cleaning was performed several times already.
Software issue?
What can I do??

If you only get the defect from the ADF then there is a problem with the glass on that side. The same scanner module is used for both flat glass and adf scanning and if you do not get the defect through the glass then the scanner head is not the issue. Even the tiniest scratch or bit of barely visible debris can be enough to cause light diffraction and result in a line on the scan. Use a bright flashlight to examine the glass closely. Not sure about the 283, but many models have a mylar cover over the adf scanner glass and those have been problematic as debris can get underneath or be scratched. That mylar cover is replaceable. Do not remove it as it will not feed through the ADF if that plastic is missing.
Also setting a copy with the defect with it on the glass will show where the defect on the glass is.

Hello Repairatrooper,
many thanks for your competent support!
I checked everything very carefully -also with a bright flashlight- and didn't find anything.
I then knocked carefully on corresponding location of the glass and later on the stripe was gone.
So, there must be something I didn't see and now it's gone.
